CACs Achieve Re-Accreditation Status

Our office looked a little like this late last week...

Because six of our member centers - Children's Advocacy Center of Hamilton CountyChildren's Advocacy Center of the 31st Judicial District, Children's Advocacy Center of the 1st Judicial District, Nashville Children's AllianceChildren's Center of the Cumberlands and Davis House Child Advocacy Center - achieved re-accreditation by National Children's Alliance (NCA) following an extensive application and site review process.

As the accrediting agency for Children's Advocacy Centers (CACs) across the country, NCA awards various levels of accreditation and membership to centers responding to allegations of child abuse in ways that are effective and efficient, and put the needs of child victims of abuse first. Accreditation is the highest level of membership with NCA and denotes excellence in service provision.

Accredited CACs must undergo a re-accreditation process every five years to ensure that best practices are continually being applied. As an Accredited Member of NCA, centers are dedicated to providing comprehensive, coordinated and compassionate services to victims of child abuse.

NCA awards Accredited Membership based on a CAC’s compliance with 10 national standards of accreditation to ensure effective, efficient and consistent delivery of services to child abuse victims. Accredited Members must utilize a functioning and effective Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) approach to work collaboratively in child abuse investigation, prosecution, and treatment. See how Davis House CAC utilizes the MDT and who is at the MDT table at Children's Center of the Cumberlands. NCA also considers standards regarding a center's cultural competency and diversity, forensic interviews, victim support and advocacy, medical evaluation, therapeutic intervention, and child focused setting.

We're super excited about their accomplishments! Click on their logos below to leave them a congratulatory message on their Facebook pages!
