Connecting for Children's Justice

The 7th annual Connecting for Children's Justice Conference is  November 21-23, 2010 at the Sheraton Music City hotel in Nashville, TN.

The conference is an excellent opportunity for different disciplines in child welfare to come together and learn how to strengthen their child maltreatment cases in Tennsessee.

Fighting Child Abuse

Children's Advocacy Centers are child- focused, facility based programs in which representatives from many disciplines work together to conduct interviews and make team decisions on cases of child abuse.  CAC locations are designed to create a sense of safety and security for child victims.

The Andrea Conte “Walk the Walk” Leadership Development Scholarship

On April 10, 2010, in gratitude for her leadership on foot and in spirit for Tennessee’s CACs, the Tennessee Chapter of Children’s Advocacy Centers and the Boards of Directors of Child Advocacy Centers in Tennessee announced the creation of the Andrea Conte “Walk the Walk” Leadership Development Scholarship.  The scholarship will be awarded annually to promote excellence in leadership and practice in carrying out the CAC mission to serve and protect Tennessee’s children who suffer from abuse.

Putting the needs of child abuse victims first

The Tennessee Chapter of Children’s Advocacy Centers (TNCAC)  is a statewide membership organization dedicated to helping local communities respond to allegations of child abuse in ways that are effective and efficient – and put the needs of child victims first.  TNCAC provides training, support, technical assistance and leadership on a statewide level to local children’s and child advocacy centers and communities throughout Tennessee responding to reports of child abuse and neglect.

A children’s advocacy center  is a child-focused, facility-based program in which representatives from many disciplines, including law enforcement, child protection, prosecution, mental health, medical and victim advocacy, child advocacy, work together to conduct interviews and make team decisions about investigation, treatment, management and prosecution of child abuse  cases.

TNCAC strongly believes that the combined professional wisdom and skill of the multidisciplinary team approach results in a more complete understanding of case issues and the most effective child and family focused system response possible.

TNCAC is an accredited chapter of the National Children's Alliance.
